Patrick Kunihira, the Director and Founder of Pillars of Africa Children Ministry, was able to meet several friends and supporters by traveling around the United States this summer. I had the privilege to spend time face to face with Patrick and hear about all the beautiful people God had allowed him to connect with these past few months. If you were one of the friends he spent time with I am sure you feel very blessed just as Patrick savored the moments he was able to get to know you on a deeper level. This trip in many ways revealed how Patrick truly walks by faith and how he trusts God when his circumstances are filled with obstacles beyond his control. If you talk to Patrick ask him how a five minute google map trip took 1.5 hours or what pain he felt when his wife's sister died and he was not in Uganda to comfort her. From New Hampshire, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Arizona, Washington, Minnesota, Missouri and Illinois Patrick was able to share his passion and heart to bring hope to the orphans they care for and the families in their Ugandan commuity. His love for his community in Aftrica is the air he breathes. Every breath he takes is to bring Christ to his people. A true fisher of men!
Patrick not only ministers to his community but while he has been in the United States he has been able to stay with many families, teach at churches, and share at rehabilitation centers.
We at HUGS appreciate all of the generosity, love and open homes each of you shared with Patrick. I am sure you each have a special story to treasure and one we would love to hear about Patrick.
We at HUGS have been emotionally blown away by God's provision for the 56 vulnerable children who are a part of Pillars. Twenty children are fully sponsored, 4 are partially sponsored and 32 have no sponsor. To our Sponsors, we feel you are such a precious part of your sponsored child's life. You are equipping them to have a brighter future and one filled with a knowing of God's love. If you have not become a sponsor please prayerfully consider being a partial sponsor of a child for $39./ month or a full sponsor for $78. /month. This monthly gift covers food, clothing, hygiene items, medical
Care and educational fees. You may go to https://www.hugsforuganda.com and click on "Sponsorships" in the menu to learn more about sponsoring these precious children. Each of their stories will touch your life and each child is waiting to send you a personal video, thanking you for your prayers and support.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: MOSES NAKIBINGE
Family: Moses joined Pillars in 2012. He is one of the remaining two pioneer children. He was part of the organization before it was a registered NGO. After the death of his father, his mom took him to his grandmother. The grandmother was unable to provide money for his education. Instead of going to school every day he woke up early and went to the garden. One day his grandmother brought him to church and he joined Sunday school. We realized that he was not going to school and discovered he could sing quite well. Moses joined the choir and Patrick and Madinah started supporting him.
About Moses: Moses is probably the most respectful young man you will ever meet. He has a love for the Lord that is beautiful. When you see him dancing it makes you want to dance as well. The energy he exudes is powerful. He is obedient and always helps a friend in need. Moses is in his first year of college and his dream is pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management. Moses would love to meet you and share his life journey with you through your monthly support and prayers. See our HUGS website listed above to connect with this amazing young man.

HOME AGAIN!
Victory for 10 of our Pillars Children was celebrated as Calvin Ngozi, Deborah Nankinga, Elijah Kalule, Moureen Kyokuhairwe, Rogers Oriekwun, Steven Olegmungu, Timothy Kwagala, Ronald Dembe, Daniel Mukisa, and Sharon Nalubega were all able to return home to their families. This is a joyous time and a genuine goal for each child to be able to return home to families who have become emotionally and finacially able to reconnect to their children. Pillar's Ministry will continue to provide prayers and encouragement in order to see continued relational growth for each of these beautiful families.
<Praise God; Our Provider, Miracle Worker, Restorer, Loving Father, & Redeemer>
We want to blow a trumpet, shout hallelujah, and do a praise dance for all our new sponsors who have joined our HUGS team. We all make sacrifices to see these children grow in ways we may not ever fully get to see but the seeds you plant are growing and will bring a harvest beyond our comprehension. Thank you so very much. Keep being God's hands and feet spreading God's LIGHT. You shine so bright ...with HUGS!!!!!
